Cave environments are fascinating and unique places, characterized by extreme conditions that have led to the development of very particular ecosystems.
Sunlight does not penetrate the caves, creating a completely dark environment. Humidity is often very high, due to the presence of water dripping from the walls or flowing along the bottom. Temperatures inside caves are generally more stable than outside, with minimal seasonal variations.

Caves can form in different ways, depending on the nature of the rock and the geological processes taking place.

Karst caves: these are the most common and are formed by the dissolution of limestone rocks by water.
Volcanic caves: they form inside lava flows or following volcanic explosions.
Sea caves : they are formed by the erosion of coastal rocks by waves.
Tectonic caves : They are formed due to movements of the earth's crust.

Caves represent a natural heritage of inestimable value, both from a scientific and cultural point of view. They are a true natural laboratory for the study of geological and biological processes and preserve important traces of the history of the Earth and of man.

To venture into the reproduced Speleos caves, good physical and mental preparation is required, as well as specific equipment that will be given to you at the base camp. Respecting the safety rules is the basis of every expedition... have a good adventure!
